At the lake. Really pretty lake and big.

We went to Yellowstone Sunday with Tracy, Dale and Grandchildren. It was a fun day. We made a circle around the park took a lot of pictures had lunch and dinner. We ended the trip through the park at Old Faithful.

This is pretty far away I couldn't get closer. But you can see them pretty good The bull was really unhappy one of the female got away and he went after her I wish I had a movie of it . It was really kool. He was really letting her know about it. Its fun this time of year lot to see and its good fishing when it get cooler. We went for a ride yesterday to Afton,Wy. Its a really nice drive if it wasn't so far from anywhere I would like to live there. Its really pretty there and the people are nice. Star Valley is a really big Valley.

Dalton is 10 months old now. He is almost walking. He is so much fun now. He likes to dance to the music his toy dog plays its so cute.

This show's me maybe we are going to have warm weather. The tree is pretty it's a crab apple the kind you can't eat. I love to see it bloom but the clean up from it is a mess. The winter seem's to want to hang on this year. Every year we have lived here and in Montana has been different. I guess that's what make it great because it does change.

Six Months

Dalton is just about six months old in 3 day. He is getting so big. He's getting to look more like his mommy all the time. He is so cute.

Ingredients
For the cake:
Vegetable oil
6 3/4 ounces cake flour, plus extra for pan
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
4 ounces unsalted butter, room temperature
8 ounces sugar
5 whole eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the glaze:
1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup half-and-half
For the topping:
2 cups heavy cream
8 ounces sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the cake:
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly oil and flour a 13 by 9-inch metal pan and set aside.
Whisk together the cake flour, baking powder and salt in a medium mixing bowl and set aside.
Place the butter into the bowl of a stand mixer. Using the paddle attachment, beat on medium speed until fluffy, approximately 1 minute. Decrease the speed to low and with the mixer still running, gradually add the sugar over 1 minute. Stop to scrape down the sides of the bowl, if necessary. Add the eggs, 1 at a time, and mix to thoroughly combine. Add the vanilla extract and mix to combine. Add the flour mixture to the batter in 3 batches and mix just until combined. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and spread evenly. This will appear to be a very small amount of batter. Bake on the middle rack of the oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the cake is lightly golden and reaches an internal temperature of 200 degrees F.
Remove the cake pan to a cooling rack and allow to cool for 30 minutes. Poke the top of the cake all over with a skewer or fork. Allow the cake to cool completely and then prepare the glaze.
For the glaze:
Whisk together the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk and the half-and-half in a 1-quart measuring cup. Once combined, pour the glaze over the cake. Refrigerate the cake overnight.
Topping:
Place the heavy cream, sugar and vanilla into the bowl of a stand mixer. Using the whisk attachment, whisk together on low until stiff peaks are formed. Change to medium speed and whisk until thick. Spread the topping over the cake and allow to chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
This cake is so good a must try.

I find a pan that make's the shape of these treat's. You make a box cake mix or you could make your own cake mix and then you fill them with just about anything you want to I put a cream cheese filling in it. It was so good and light not really sweet.

Yellowstone Park

It was a lot of fun going to the park with Debbie,Brad, Jedrik,Lee, and Dave even if it did rain a lot of the time while we were in the park. We had a pick nik at the lake. the lake is so big and pretty.

Banana Cream Root Beer Cake

1 package white cake mix

1 1/4 cups root beer

2 eggs

1/4 cup vegetable oil

In mixing bowl,combine the first four ingredients. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds; beat on high for 2 minutes. Pour into a 13 x 9 in baking pan.

Bake at 350 for 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool then mix a small package of pudding mix and put it over the cake then bananas on top of that. Then a tub of cool whip.

We went to the Greenbelt today to see how high the river was with the run off its really high. Its really pretty there all year .

The town has made a park here its really big about two mile around.

Debbie's Bread Recipe

Whole Wheat Bread Makes 4 loaves of Bread 5 cups warm water 1/2 cup honey 1 Tbsp. salt 1/3 cup oil 3 Tbsp. Instant YeastFresh Ground Wheat Flour Unbleached White Flour (Use as much or as little of the unbleached white flour as you want) I used about 3/4 wheat flour and 1/4 unbleached white I use 1/2 cup of vital wheat gluten also. Combine warm tap water (90-100 degrees), sweetener, salt and oil in your Bosch. Add some flour to cool the water enough to add the yeast. I kept adding flour and checking the water until I felt like it was the right temperature to add the yeast. Add the yeast and continue adding flour, alittle at a time, until the dough is no longer sticking to the sides of the bowl. This tells you there is enough flour incorporated in the dough, however, there is very little gluten. There is no need to let the dough rise before forming into loaves. Remove dough from bowl in one big ball. Cut into 4 pieces. Form each piece into the right shape to put in your bread pans. I only had 3 bread pans, so I put one of the loaves in my pyrex pie pan by shaping it into a round shape and cutting a criss/cross on the top. Before placing in bread pans - spray each pan with Olive Oil; and spray each bread loaf all over with Olive Oil. After placing the loaves in the bread pans, punch down across the loaf with your fist to flatten. Warm your oven to 150 degrees for 2 minutes to take the chill off and then turn off. Place loaves of bread, covered by a light cloth in the oven and let rise until the bread is just above the top of the loaf pan. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for about 20- 25 minutes. The bread is done when the top crust is nicely browned. Remove one loaf from the oven and turn it out to check the bottom crust. If it is too light, bake 5 more minutes. Remove from pans and cool. If you wish to freeze your bread, cool thoroughly then put in plastic bread sack and secure tightly. Freeze the loaf whole. If you slice the bread before freezing, there is more surface area to get frosted. Thaw at room temperature overnight. It tastes almost as fresh as when you baked it. Delicious....

Tracy's Dinner Rolls

Its is the best recipe for rolls I have ever made.

Dinner Rolls

Scald 2 cups milk

1/2 cup of butter

2 Tablespoons of yeast in lukewarm 1/2 cup water

2 beaten eggs

1/2 cup of sugar

2 tsp. salt

Put 6-7 cups flour to make a soft dough. Just spoon not knead. Let rise tell doubled. Roll out and cut. Make like parker house rolls. Put on buttered pan and let rise. Bake 375 for 10 to 15 min.

Chicken Vegetable Piroshki

2 boxes refrigerated pie crust (4 total crusts) - If you are ambitious you can make your own from scratch.

1 large Dough (Piroshki) Press - Buy from http://www.preparedpantry.com/ for $3.99

1/2 chicken cut in small pieces

1/3 onion, chopped

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 cup frozen peas

3 cups shredded broccoli slaw

1/4 tsp. garlic salt

1/4 tsp. ground pepper

1 cup shredded cheese of your choice

Chicken Gravy (make from packaged gravy and water) Set aside to use on top of pastry when served.

Mix all ingredients except cheese. Cut circles from dough with dough press. Fill one side with 3 tablespoons filling. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Spread water around 1/2 of circle edge with pastry brush for a better seal. Close dough press and press firmly to seal edges of the pastry.

Put on lightly oiled pan. Make egg/water mixture with 1 egg and 1 Tab. water. Beat well and brush on top of pastries. Put in 400 degree oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes 12 Piroshkis. Delicious!!

Additional Piroshki filling ideas:

Ham and cheese, barbeque beef, mushroom/vegetable, any pie filling, chicken & parmesean, spinach, potato/cheeseand potato/spinach (or just let your mind be creative).
